The river Colne, a tributary of the Thames, meanders across Staines Moor.
My parents still live in Staines, where I grew up. Staines Moor is an ancient patch of land that has never been cultivated or built upon, as it tends to flood in winter. The changing seasons and light provide a great backdrop for my daily walks there. Cattle and horses graze there in summer. This location is a walkable distance from Heathrow airport's terminal 5, despite its seemingly rural setting.
I used a flash to saturate the foreground with light; a creative possibility that seems to be under-used in landscape photography.
